BOX LACROSSE OPPORTUNITIES
Our goal is to appropriately honor indoor box lacrosse by spreading awareness and opportunities by providing proper training, avenues to participate in authentic box lacrosse experiences, and continue to foster the growth of the game in the state of Michigan and other adjacent areas of the Midwest.
WINTER - HIGH SCHOOL & MENS
MICHIGAN BOX LACROSSE LEAGUE
Since 2018, the MBLL has provided a 6-week league starting in January for HS and Men's teams.
SUMMER - MENS, WINTER - JUNIORS
SENIOR & JUNIOR HOOLIGANS BOX TEAMS
The Detroit Hooligans box program has our Sr Team competing in the nationwide NABLL in the summer and Jr Teams locally in the winter.
FALL - MENS
MOTOR CITY RUMBLE BOX TOURNAMENT
Since 2019, the "Rumble" has been a staple tournament for men's box taking place in late October / early November.
WHY BOX LACROSSE?
“I believe that box lacrosse gives young people many more opportunities to excel in our game. If I had my choice, I would have every player under the age of twelve play box lacrosse exclusively or at least a majority of the time. The number of touches of the ball and the ability to develop better stick skills in a game of box lacrosse, far surpasses what happens to young people on a 110 x 60 yard field. Learning how to pass and catch in traffic, understanding how to shoot, and developing a sense of physicality are all positive traits developed by the box game.”
